Issues That Matter in HD 33

As your neighbor in Northwest Portland, I’m running for Oregon House District 33 to bring courage, conviction, and common sense to Salem. From the Pearl District to Beaverton, let’s tackle our biggest challenges together.

Public Safety

From Forest Park to Cedar Mill, safety is the foundation of a thriving community.

  • Fully fund police with mental health crisis teams

  • Support community policing

  • Secure parks and trails

  • Address repeat offenders

Housing Affordability

In HD 33, 51.8% of residents rent, with average costs of $1,520/month in areas like 97209 and 97005. As a Northwest Portland native, I’ve seen families struggle.

  • Streamline permitting for affordable units

  • Expand tax credits for property owners

  • Lower property taxes

  • Incentivize mixed-use development

Economic Growth

Our tech hubs in Bethany and downtown retailers need support to grow, not new taxes.

  • Cut red tape for small businesses

  • Invest in workforce training

  • Improve infrastructure

  • Reject blanket tax hikes

Solutions for Homeless

Encampments hurt businesses and safety. We need compassionate, accountable solutions.

  • Demand accountability of homeless funds

  • Enforce clean-ups while addressing addiction and mental health

  • Fund state operated mental health facilities
